Public Outreach
Statement by George McKale

In March of 2008, I was appointed by the City of Sonoma's City Council, as Sonoma's first official historian. As City Historian, I have had the good fortune of serving our community by participating in a variety of local historical committees and local government projects. I have always believed in visiting our schools to discuss just about anything that will alert children to the wonders of the past.

I have also addressed Fraternal Clubs and historical socieites throughout the Bay Area.  These opportunities have allowed me to meet people from all walks of life, all who have one thing in common, an interest in our past.
